MB 20 S

The Müller Machinery MB 20 S is a 2-tonne class machine built around one idea — get to the work, then get stable. Its variable-gauge undercarriage is standard, so the tracks retract to pass through a gateway or a side passage and extend again on site for a wider, steadier stance. Most machines make you choose between access and stability. This one does not. At 1,760 kg it digs 2,200 mm deep, reaches 3,810 mm out and 3,690 mm up, with 15 kN of bucket breakout force. That covers foundations, drainage, pond and pool excavation, stump removal and loading a trailer without building a ramp. The 0.05 m³ bucket moves noticeably more per cycle than a 1.6-tonne machine, which is where the time actually goes on a big garden job. Power is a Yanmar 3TNV74F — a water-cooled three-cylinder diesel with a genuine European parts network behind it, not a badge you will struggle to source for. Hydraulic joystick control and the side-swing boom are both standard, and steel tracks are available if you work on rock or demolition debris rather than lawns.
