MB 16 A

The Müller Machinery MB 16 A is the sensible step up for anyone who has outgrown a one-tonne machine. At 1,615 kg it still fits through a 1,100 mm gap and still tows on a standard trailer, but it digs 2,100 mm deep and reaches 3,010 mm high, which changes what you can take on. That extra depth is the difference between a drainage trench and a proper foundation. It is enough for footings on a garage or an extension, for a sewer connection, or for lifting a mature root ball out in one piece rather than cutting it apart. The 13 kN bucket breakout force handles compacted clay and stony ground that would stall a smaller machine. The side-swing boom comes as standard, and it earns its place the first time you dig tight against a wall or a boundary fence — you offset the boom and keep working instead of giving up 300 mm to the neighbour. The 1,190 mm turning radius means you can work in a space barely wider than the machine. Engine choice is yours: the Kubota D722 for its parts network and resale, or the Laidong for more power at a lower price. Both are water-cooled three-cylinder diesels to EU Stage V.
